Dispensing and dosing applications in clinical laboratory instruments are critical to the precision and accuracy of the diagnostic test results. They approach low µl-volume and nl-volume ranges with some detection technologies. As such, it is critical to incorporate the right fluid control valve that provide precision control. Emerson’s miniature isolation valve portfolio provides industry-leading technologies that offer accurate and repeatable flow control for ultra-low liquid volumes.

The ASCO Series 067 is a line of rocker solenoid fluid isolation valves for use with neutral or aggressive liquids and gasses in analytical and medical systems. The valves excellent self-draining capability and easy-to-flush, low-volume internal cavity make it ideal for applications where cross-contamination must be minimized. A special rocker mechanism, combined with a separating diaphragm, prevents heat transfer to the fluid and eliminates the sticking effect of the valve seat. Typical application include pipette dispensing, in-vitro diagnostics, DNA sequencing, and surgical fluid management.
The ASCO Series 055 are PTFE fluid isolation valves designed for use with highly aggressive liquids. The PTFE body and diaphragm isolate the internal solenoid components from the media resulting in a virtually impervious valve. Typical applications include chromatography, solvent selection/diversion, sample preparation, and DNA sequencing.
