TopWorx™ Thief Hatch Monitoring Kits

Fugitive emissions have become more important due to increased regulation and the need to reduce lost product. This has created a need for retrofitting tank thief hatches with monitoring capabilities to ensure that the hatches are closed when not in use. At Emerson, we recognize this and offer superior position sensing technology in the form of the TopWorx Thief Hatch Monitoring Kit. This kit utilizes the TopWorx GO Switch Model 73 which delivers the oil & gas industry’s most reliable solution with high precision and reduced maintenance. The kit can be used in upstream oil & gas applications requiring tighter tank top systems in compliance with regulations.

  • Designed to fit any thief hatch model.
  • Features a wide operating temperature range and ruggedized design that resists dust, dirt, moisture, washdown, noise, Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) and caustic chemicals.
  • This kit features a GO Switch Model 73 which precisely monitors the hatch positioning, ensuring emissions are under control and hatches are fully sealed at all times. Its unique, robust bracket design guarantees no false signaling will occur.
  • Installs with the optional Rosemount® 702 Wireless Discrete Transmitter. These simple apparatuses are safe to install in harsh, explosion-proof, or hazardous applications. GO Switch Model 73 also does not draw power so the battery life on wireless transmitters is greatly improved.
  • Reduced cost of installation and maintenance with no need for field wiring, Inputs/Outputs, safety barriers, or monitoring for line breakage and short circuits when utilizing the wireless option.
